Houston ISD School Policies and Procedures 2018-2019
Use this checklist to determine whether to keep your child home from school:
• Does your child have lice (white, translucent eggs the size of a pinpoint on the hair or
insects on the scalp)?
Once your child has been treated for lice, he or she can return to school
LICE: Head lice are one of the social nuisances that schools and parents of school age children may find themselves having to deal with. Lice do not transmit disease.
* Student will be excluded from school if they have an active case of lice. Students DO NOT need to miss school. Students should receive prompt treatment and return to school the following day. Information about treatment (box top of treatment used) must be provided to the nurse when returning to school.
We can help with any questions, concerns, or treatments. Call with any questions.
